Akbar started Bags to Riches at the age of 15 when he realized that bags are underutilized after events. He is currently a sophomore at UC Berkeley. Previously, he took a Gap Year in Washington, D.C., where is he worked for The ONE Campaign. Akbar enjoys sharing his story and has been able to speak at a few TEDx Conferences over the years.

Chief Operations Officer
Elise Hall is a freshmen at Brigham Young University, where she is double majoring in Political Science and Economics, and is Chief Operations Officer of Bags to Riches. In addition to managing operations for Bags to Riches, Elise is very interested in politics and is an avid volunteer and proponent of community involvement; she has given her time to the American Legion Auxiliary, Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club of Sandy, and Wentworth Retirement Home. Elise looks forward to continuing to aid underprivileged youth both domestically and internationally through her work with Bags to Riches.
Chief Marketing Officer
Sam Bemis, a freshmen at the University of Utah and is the Chief Marketing Officer of Bags to Riches. While conducting operations for this organization, she is also the HOBY Utah Chapter Alumni Editor and Salt Lake City Chapter Vice President, and avid volunteer. She gained interest in global humanitarian efforts after organizing local gift wrapping drives that raised over $3,000 that benefited the Operation Smile foundation. She is happy to be a part of the Bags to Riches team, and excited to see it continue to grow and help underprivileged youth across the globe.
